The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas

This story was really different and it really didn't make me feel that good. But it seemed like I recognized the storyline from something else, i just couldn't remember what that was. I thought the story was very interesting when it was giving examples of how great the people of the town were and how at peace they were. But once I read about the dark secret of the town my mood changed drastically. I really didn't expect something like that to happen especially since it was a small child that was the one that gets abused. The story had a really good twist to it I thought. I got a mixed feelings in the end because I enjoyed the story a lot but at the same time I couldn't accept the fact that there is this town that has an abused starved child beneath it.

Saboteur

The reason I liked this story was because of the way Mr. Chiu tried to stand up for his rights and what he believed in. I think everyone should do this. But even as things kept getting worser for him he kept trying to stand up for not only himself but his friends as well. I feel like he showed courage by accepting jail time over just admitting to something that he really did not do. I also think he took the mistreatment longer than most peolple could of handled it and the only reason that he gave up was because he didnt want his lawer friend to suffer. Mr Chiu seemed like a caring person to me that was just pushed to his limits and reacted liek any other person would have.

A Drowing Incident

This story felt really dark and cold to me. But at the same time it was very calm. I liked how the story built up what had drowned. At first I thought maybe it was the younger brother that was going to drown but I was very surprised when it was only the puppies that had drowned. I enjoyed how bold the kid was to get dead puppies out of the water and bring them back to his house. Not to mention that he put the dead puppy in his little brother's crib. I liked his sense of revenge and style. I really enjoyed this story even thought it was so dark and murky.
